An epic love story is not loud. At least, it’s not always loud. Sometimes it’s rather quiet. But it’s never too quiet either. Even in the smallest moments, when love is strong and profound, it’s hard to keep it quiet.
The dependability, the affection, the intentionality, the sacrifice; the world will see the results and know for sure how powerful that love is.
They say if you want to make God laugh, then you tell him your plans. Though, in this case, no matter how much I try to draw or define the specifics of the love story that I’m looking for, I find that it is still very elusive.
I dream of it, of him, though I never remember his face.
But I remember the feeling, and it haunts me.
In my waking moments, I can’t find it and I can’t see it — I just have to have faith in it. I know what I want it to feel like, I know the experience I want to get from it, but I won’t truly know until I actually have seen it and experienced it.
So, there really is no plan. I don’t have any plan to share to give God a good laugh. I can only wait until it happens. I can know that when it does happen, I’ll be prepared. I can prepare for the times that the feeling doesn’t align, so that I’ll have the discernment and the strength necessary to leave it alone and leave the space open.
